Coffee -good or bad???

Kaisa Ilvesmäki-Jakobsen | June 29, 2009

For me it is important that when I drink coffee, it has the best quality, and the best taste. I prefer always a “caffe latte” either with soya milk or skinny milk for the morning. During the day I am fine with an espresso, or a strong cup of nescoffee either with or without coffein. I defenately dont like filter coffee… Read the rest of this entry »

Eat after your bloodtype?

Kaisa Ilvesmäki-Jakobsen | June 17, 2009

It is around a week since the race in Hannover, and this week I started the “real” training again. I felt pretty good all the last week, even 2 days after the race I did not have that normal “after-race-feeling” being tired.  But anyhow we decided with Frank that the days after would be “nice and easy”, just to prepare myself for the coming training afterwards. Week passed well, and now the training is on again. Read the rest of this entry »

How to manage the 2 hour run or a 5 hour bike without eating?

Kaisa Ilvesmäki-Jakobsen | June 13, 2009

This is a question that many of my “not Ironman” friends and collegues frequently ask me.  And then it is just to explain them that it is very important to get lots of sugar during the training session, that lasts more than 1 hour. Sometimes people they think that it is all about loosing weight or something like that, but NO, it … Read the rest of this entry »

Start of the season – Half IM in Hannover

Kaisa Ilvesmäki-Jakobsen | June 8, 2009

All and all great day! I am happy and satisfied, even I did not make it  under 5 hours… So I still have something to go for:-) See the results from http://www.wasserstadt-triathlon.de/ergebnisse.html and Mitteltriathlon.

on the run, about 17k mark.

on the run, about 17k mark.

But shortly to say; I made my PB in the distance, won my Age-group 45 to 49, and even had best time  in the AG 40-44, of all the women in the race i was number 7, and beeing a half ironman, the agedifference gives the younger girls an advantage, because the speed is harder to keep the older you get.

Kaisa Ilvesmäki-Jakobsen | June 6, 2009

Here we are, tomorrow at 12 starts the race: Wasserstadt-Limmer Triathlon, and its puring down, temperature now: 12 degrees. This is the time to to be a real ironman (even the race is just half distance)! This time the preparing is a bit different, as it is my first race, when Frank is not racing, but with as a coach and great “mentor”, it feels great.
I feel like having good legs, the cykle is rolling great with the fantastic new Zipp tubular wheels and a small run I made today, I feel light and good. Read the rest of this entry »
