Well I never was thinking that I was left alone home without Frankie, who cannot come home from Mallorca, but how come…?
This was not my first trip to the Canadian Rockies, and not the last one either I hope. Great trip, with a great group and good time
Could not be a better sunday; what a fantastic weather, felt like the spring is here
Departure for my training camp? so where do i go now…? Mallorca? Gran Canaries? No, to Canada!!!! To Canada’s Rocky Mountains on a trip where I end in Whistler and fly home from Olympic Vancouver.
Now you might ask is it good to ski in march/april, what about the Ironman training?
My first race (a so-called B race for me, wich means i dont tapper for it, but just put a easy trainingweek before it)
It works good for me, it lifts my leves about 7 to 10 days after, giving me the chance to move to next level.
The hard thing about it, is that you are not super timmed, and so you cant go 100% farst, but it´s just to remember that it is early in the season, and to put the timegoal after that.
I went to hannover, for at 1/2 ironman, it was end of may, and it was a cold day in the morning, but turned out fine, as the race went on.
I spent a lot of time on the T1 and T2, beacuse if i would be to cold, my coach could not use the different numbers / splittimes for setting the training up for the rest of the season. I became 7th of 113 women, winning my agegroup. Just over 5 hours, so i was really happy
Here are som impressions from the day.
There was many who told me, that the first time you race in Kona, is a time to learn.
So to reach the podium, to get up there on the awardsevening sunday, is a something you go for when you return to Kona.
But the only thing i love about these”unwritten rules” are that you can brake them. So i really decided to look at the big stars, that had come to Kona, and done well on first shot. They are there. So all i had to do, was to be inspired by them, to belive, and so i did.
I think that if you race, you do you traning, you prepere, you do all you can, and the just enjoy the race, the days up the the race, and all that comes after are a part of it. You feel so alive, and it is just a good feeling the whole thing. Here is a small home video, i hope you can get some of the feeling, cause it was a beautifull end to the whole kona-adventure for 2009, a good memory.

We are still enjoying our life and training on Canary Islands. What better way, to end the year, than a good long ride in the mountains and run a brick run, in sun, along the coast, and 25 degrees under a super blue sky , but am I fit now ?
