This is something you might here lots of times, in Ironman this is the only way to keep control; you have to eat well to be able to train all those amounts and keep your weight under control. It might sound strange that even a person trains all that amount, he has to look after the food and amount what he is eating, not to gain weihgt, but yes, this is how it functions.
Week is gone and we are home again from a great training week on Mallorca; if you ever plan to train in a better climate, and in the mountains, keep Mallorca in your mind, but……
This morning i again had Lasse my swimcoach by the pool.
He did some video, and showed me some of the mistakes i need to work on.
My normal coach have over and over again told me many of the things, but when i saw it on video over and under water, i really understood it.
So go do it, be a moviestar in the pool, and get fast, really fast.
greetings from the dolphin Kaisa.
This week was one of the travelling weeks again, since I spent from tuesday until thursday evening in Finland. As I normally am quite busy while travelling,
it needs a lot of planning how to put the training into my programme. The other a bit interrupting point in travelling is, that I sleep badly, and this makes my training a bit tricky. Anyhow we have solved the training by doing it in the mornings as I am an A person, and while in Finland, I normally can have some good swimming and running passes.
Nevermind, next week we will head for the trainingcamp on Mallorca, starting on 5th of May will anyhow and ofcourse be cycling, as Mallorca is a known of its mountainsides, but even the flat cykling is great on the island. It will be perfect time to stress a bit more my bike leg, to be ready for Hannover in the beginning of June. What else is great on a training camp is, that except of training there is time for relaxing, which is a very important part all and all while training a lot.
Yesterday afternoon, I had my test on Kettinge roads, making my PB in 1 round, and doing better time than ever Could not be better, very good motivation for the further training. Soon I am heading on my MT (muscletension) bikepass, and a brick off bike run for 30 minutes.
I feel that I am soon getting ready as well for my first race, 1/2IM in Hannover in 5 weeks, will be perfect to get to test the condition so far! But first heading to Mallorca!
26th of april My daily training
There are many asking me about how do I get my training fitted in to my daily life. Thats a good question; the answer is very simple; by very good planning.
My day starts often by me getting up at 5.30 or 6 in the morning, hurring up to the www.kildeskovshallen.dk for a swim. If Frank is with he will drive me to my job www.sos.dk in Fredriksberg, and I pick my “citybike” form the car, to get home in the afternoon. My job is about 10 k from my home, so it is always a good “rolling”or recover bike to and from my job home.
After the job I either jump on my bike or in my running shoes, to get my afternoon training done. And it is seldom, that we can eat our dinner before 20 in the evening. Many times Frank is with as a coach or just a training partner on my afternoon lessons, its nice, as we at the same time can have a chat of many other things as well.
After the dinner there is not time for much more than sleep, to get the 8-9 hours covered, and the day after i start all over again:-)
First traningcamp, and Gran Canaria, Spain was again right for good weather, shorts and 1 shirt all day biking in the mountains.
100 to 120 rpm and fokus on pushing AND pulling in the pedalstroke.
HD is another (we call it heavy duty, cause that is what it is)
3×20 min. of heavy gear, and 50-60 rpm.
It get´s pretty heavy by the 3rd session, but it works, and i like to do workouts that i know works for me.
Stand is one (but this one i am not so happy about)
I also did my first openwater swim´s of 2009.
The warm water around the Canarie Island´s, are just good for this.
Just outside the hotel, i could go for good swims, and i love to go for at good swim in the morning, before the breakfast, so i did.
It was a good traningweek, a good start, that will be a good part of the base for the 2009 season.
Helliskiing and Catskiing, 4 different places and a short visit to Vancouver, so now I am ready to train for Hawaii.
But as you can see, some swim and running I did, just to keep the system up to date, and some beautiful runs I got, so fantastic a place Canada is, so fantastic.
Skiing is good for strong legs. This morning i walked up before the lifts where open. Frank was with, and we had a beautifull sunrise, and we made the first tracks on the fresh groomed slopes of Kicking Horse ski resort. Life is good.
I decided to go to Juelsminde in Denmark, for the longdistance championship.
I proved to be a good challange, as the weather really was giving us all it had.
The sea was rough, and full !!! og jellyfish (and i really dont like them).
I made it without hitting one, and then on to the bike race, in gusting winds and heavy rain. I did a medium bikerace, again not my favoritconditions, but same for all, as the critics would say.
On the run i lost 4-6 min due to bad nutritiondiciplin, and totally it was not a race i enjoyed. I dident tapper for it, beacuse it was not the most important race for me, but when i was there, i of course wanted to win, but was not 100% on the day.
I was therefore happy to learn a lot, proud to get the race done in such hard conditions, and next year i will be 100%, just wait and see.
