We always enjoyed coconut water. It is a very alkaline “drink”, but quite expensive to drink in Denmark and generally other parts of the world. But the ones who are not so eager eating fruits and veggies, and prefer to drink juices, I always recommend coconut water.
Why…? For it’s alkaline effect for the body.
But why to try to get the body more alkaline, well here some important points for you. Look at your food intake and see how acid is your body actually?
Actually acidosis destroys bones, and to maintain the blood ph level (7.35 – 7.45) from acid range (ph below 7.0), the body has the tendency to steal alkalizing minerals from them. Many researches confirmed that unless our body is slightly alkaline, healing from various acidosis would not be possible. Thus, our body must buffer the acid and borrow the minerals we can get from alkaline foods
As the body tries to restore equilibrium, maintaining the correct acidity-alkalinity balance in the blood is important to reach wholesome wellness. As the consequence of an acidic diet, the body’s ability to absorb enough nutrients and minerals decreases and makes us more susceptible to various types of diseases. Now this is an important matter, and I put a lot of focus on this in our team athletes. Many hours of training is also turning the body acidic. This is why my opinion is that healthy, alkaline food is needed, specially when looking at the recovery, injuries, and even sleeping problems.
To know what is alkaline and what is acid, is actually quite simple; more or less all the fruits and veggies are alkaline, and the rest, meaning meat, fish, eggs, milkproducts are acid.
