Today I got to be a Danish Champion in my Age Group in the Olympic Distance Triathlon. What a great win, it was a great day, and very good feeling at the race.
Many of the best DK athlethes came, and that made for at day to remember. They really showed a high level, and i got very inspired…..so thank you to all the top of dk, and to raceproviders and helpers !
For you who does not know what it is: 1,5 swim – 40 k bike – 10 k run, so very short for me But the difference is, you put all the power in -all the way, from the start til the end. And in the end you are just done
Normally I don’t do the very short distances, as I long ago found out that the biggest part of my muscles cells are slow and this is why I have concentrated for the longer distances. But it is fun to race short races, and it is also excellent training! And like I told in the beginning, in the race you push full out, you give it all, so as a training day, could not be a better workout!
I won my age group and was number 10 in all age group women.
The race route was a bit funny… well the swim was not a full swim as the temperature in the morning was only showing 12.7 degrees in the sea, so they shorted it down to half (good!). I have to say, that in the end of the swim the arms started to feel a bit stiff Bike was 8 rounds of 5 k lap! So you can just imagine how it was along the route as all the 150 age group men and women were riding at the same time! Run was a 4-lap round with a small descent/ascent in the middle.
All and all great arrangement, and a nice danish summer weather!
See you on the roads!
The Champion!!!
