I have got some difficulties to get connected, but finally I succeed!! And here comes the story from the beautiful warm south (training is secret for now)

On the bike in Volcano desert

Biking fast on Fuerte :-)
I could not say much more that, when living in far North in Scandinavian countries, and the autumm is there and the winter getting closer, it is nothing better than taking a break from the darkness, and fly against south. I am lucky to have a Ironman race ahead of me, so I definately have a big effect in heading to the warm weather and do my training there. As the conditions in Mexico, Cozumel, for sure will be close to the ones on Hawaii, meaning warm and humide, it is great to choose alike training spot.
So i decided to try the new ”sportsresort” Playitas on Fuerteventura.
I must say, that it is a great spot for Tri-training. Here are som points:
+ great center, all you need is next to; effective training with 50 m outside pool,
(heated to about 25-26 always) resort is by the sea, running tracks and cycling from your door, supermarket, massage, restaurants
+ fantastic accomodation, either 2 bedroom villas with kitchen, washing machine, own small garden, with own POOL !!!! (i call them Beverly Hills)
or apartment with kitchen facilities and small balcony, or hotelrooms. All super quality = 4 star.
+ super roadbiking even with time- trial, as the climbs not necessarily too steep, traffic VERY QUIET when you are away from the one mainroad on the Island.
+ great breakfast buffet, with everything, even porrige for those who like it
+ great dinner buffet with (so if you come here, book ½ board as there is only 2-3 restaurents in the small village fo playitas 1 km from the ressort)
+ weather fantastic warm, normally in november up to 30 degrees, and it dosent get really cold in the night, around 15 is low.
+ the seawater 25, so wetsuit not necessary, in the spring the even put out markers.
+ great big gym and very modern gym
+ you can train all sports, even different fitness activities and Golf; everything for all the family

Morning swim in Playitas
Good to know:
- difficult to find flat running tracks, pretty hilly
- the selection in the supermarket is quite poor
- very limited amount of energyproducts for sale
- sometimes the wind can be strong, so I recommend you bring lowprofile wheels, and 39/53 front + 12-27 back, that would take you over most climbs ok.
All and all, I would not mind spending even longer than 10 days on the spot, I deeply recommend for the active holliday and for sports enthusiasts!
See you on the road!!
