These days, when stepping out in the door in the morning, it is not necessarily sunshine waiting for you But most of the times we have this foggy autumn weather. But don’t get irritated or disappointed into the weather, go on with your alternate recover period training, like MTB in the forrest. It is actually fantastic way to keep yourself going and getting lots of fresh air at the same time
If you already started your winter basis training, it is also a fantastic alternative to have a ride on a MTB. If you want your heart rate well up, just find the hills, and there you are! Even in Denmark it is easy enough to find good hills in the forest. You push yourself just for 1.30 – 2 hours and you have had a super training session.
In case you are technically not so good on MTB and might want just to ride on the roads, it is no problem either to do that and again have great training session. As MTB is heavier and has normally bigger tires than roadbike,, it needs more power to ride on the road with MTB than roadbike. And specially now, when the weather is getting a bit cooler, it is easier to keep yourself warm on MTB.
And look at your TRI club training, normally all of them arrange MTB training sessions in the winter, join the club!!!
There is always many new members starting up, so if you are a “old” athlete, this is the time to help new ones, and
mabye they bring some new ideas on training and a race that you dident know about ??
new people…new inspiration.
