I was the only woman from the Nordic countries on the podium in Kona 2009 
There was no other scandinavian woman in the professionals nor in any of the age groups. The feeling, when I heard my name, and went up on the podium in front of about 2000 people, to get my price, was fantastic. Again i felt very gratefull, to have the chance to compete against so many good athletes, in such an event. It was truly a complete feeling, to stand on the podium in Kona.
Even better, as I heard a woman shouting “juhuuuu…Kaisa”, and I was sure that it was Neri, the wonderful wife of Craig Aleksander. That was really cool of hear, because there was not many I knew in the crowd in front of me.
Again thank you for all my friends, sponsors, volunteers and race directors, that were there for me that day. I am greatful for this day, as it ended up to be one of the best races of my life so far!
