Sometimes it can be difficult to find motivation for a long run. Mine was 1.30 this morning, and after yesterdays 4 hours bike and run training my legs felt a bit tired… The weather is fantastic for running at the moment, this morning no wind, 7 degrees, and sunspells in between some cloudy periods. I put my Asics DS Trainer on, and Maxim gel in my pocket, a small water bottle and there I went.
It took an hour to get the legs working!!! And if it was not because of my finnish “sisu”, I would have taken the shortest way home. But I have the “sisu”, and I continued, and good, as I had the best last half an hour in my long run for a long time. But how did I find the motivation during my run? Actually after an hour it slowly built up, and when I finally had the last km left I met Jonas from Endurance Sport, passing me with his TT bike, saying “looks good” to me, and so the motivation flow up Even I did not feel like flying this morning, it helped me a lot to get some positive words from a friend
On my way I met lots of runners, as the spring is here, and running is one of the most popular sports activities among danish. And what could be better way to start the day, than a jog/run for the breakfast Ok, now I am talking for the A- people, who get most out of their training in the mornings, this is where I belong Any how, morning or afternoon, both is great, just you get on your running shoes.
It is good to have a goal ion the running, whether it is a goal of loosing weight, running 10 km, half marathon or full marathon, it gives plenty of motivation to train, and to train after the plan without skipping any of the training days.
If you have put your goal of half or full marathon here to the early summer, keep running. 1 slow, 1 tempo and 1 long run, and you have the basis. If you want just to get through this is a good plan. In case of better time, run 2 tempo runs during a week, and you will make it better. And the distance, depends of your goal, half or full?
